Wendy's first blog

I have finally found a little bit of time to sit down and blog a bit! Emma and Daniel keep me so busy and so tired!
I want to tell you about our recent road trip. We took a mini vacation to Cincinnati, Ohio last Monday. Why Ohio you may be asking? Well, we decided to go see the Reds play a couple of baseball games! We left that morning and arrived in Cincinnati around 4:00pm. The children did well riding. Emma napped a little, but Daniel did not. We checked into our hotel room and rested about an hour before we headed out the door again. The Reds vs. Padres game started at 7:35pm. We decided to walk to the game since we hade been sitting most of the day in the car. The Great American Ballpark was 8 blocks away from our hotel. So here we go! We put Emma Sue in the stroller and strolled down the streets of Cincinnati. It was a nice walk. We got to the ballpark, checked out the gift shop, and headed to our great seats. Our seats were 4 rows up from the third base line. In other words we were in foul ball territory! We had to keep our eyes on the ball. It was fun being there and seeing the beautiful stadium. We stayed for 8 innings and decided to head back. The Reds were ahead by 4 runs anyway. But later after we got back to the hotel we found out that the game continued into 13 innings and the Reds lost. On Tuesday we got up and went to the zoo. It was very fun! Daniel and Emma loved all the different animals. We enjoyed it, but we all were tired and ready for a nap by the end. We left the zoo and headed back to the room. For supper Tuesday night we feasted on Cincinnati chili. On Wednesday we got up, ate a free brunch at the Muffin Basket downstairs and headed back to the ballpark for a 12:30pm game. We arrived early to take in the scenery and ambiance of the place once again. Our seats this time were in the shade in the lower level behind home plate in the shade. Thank God for the shady seats because it was hot! The game ended again in a loss but it was still enjoyable to be there. We then headed for Spartaland after stopping in Lexington, KY to eat and shop a little.

Wendy, great to have you blogging. Sounds like your little trip was a fun one, sorry the Reds lost. I went to a game once in Atlanta and all the people i was with were cheering for the Braves who were playing the Red that day. Youll be happy to know that the Braves were the losers that day. Hope to hear, or read, you post of the future.
